The speaker is:
Dr. JIANG Xiwen, R&D Director, DaAn Gene Co. Ltd., Sun Yat-Sen University
The Lecture is:
The applications of molecular diagnostic in pathogen detection
Molecular diagnosis of the nucleic acid is an essential part of the molecular diagnosis. It tests the sequence of the DNA and RNA gene fragments of the subjects, and diagnoses the diseases based on the test results. Molecular diagnosis runs through the entire disease course of the patient in early prediction, disease diagnosis, efficacy evaluation, and prognosis judgment. Molecular pathogen detection is the discipline that developed first and is relatively mature in the field of molecular diagnosis . Ninety-five percent of the infectious pathogens can be tested by molecular diagnostic techniques of PCR and hybridization techniques. The molecular diagnostic techniques are witnessing a rapid development. The paper intends to report on the application of molecular diagnostic techniques in the detection of pathogens, comprehensively analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of various molecular diagnostic techniques and their significance in the actual clinical testing, and looks to the future directions of the development of molecular diagnostic techniques.
In September 2015, Dr. JIANG Xiwen started his career in Da An Gene Co., Ltd. of Sun Yat - Sen University. Currently, Dr. JIANG is the R&D Director of DaAn Gene. His job responsibilities are making the plan for research and development, project application, research cooperation and the strategic planning of development of molecular diagnostics technology and the management of the scientific research daily administrative affairs of DaAn Gene. Scince 2015, He and his team in DaAn Gene have developed several series of molecular diagnosis products, based on qPCR, ARMs-PCR, Digital PCR, the 1st generation sequencing, Biochips, NGS and other molecular techniques.
Dr. JIANG is serving as deputy Secretary-General of Biotechnology Association Precision Medical and Companion Diagnostic Committee of China, the member of Chinese Society of Cell Biology, the member of council of Guangdong Precision Medicine Applications Association, the member of Molecular Diagnostics Academic Committee of Chinese Society of Integrative Medicine Laboratory Medicine Professional Committee, the member of Institute of Clinical Evaluation of Medicines and Medical Devices of Hubei province, distinguished fellow of neurosurgery of Children's Hospital of Shenzhen and the youth member of Chinese Association of Cancer Tumor Markers Association.
In 2004, Dr. JIANG received his bachelor degree of biology from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and master degree of molecular biology from Wuhan Virology Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences. A Ph.D. degree majoring in Biology was obtained from the University of Hong Kong. At last, a master degree about clinical laboratory medicine was got from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2017.
He has published more than 10 high level SCI papers, and presided or joined more than 20 programs funded by the national government, the provincial government or the municipal government, including 4 national key programs.
