The research aims of this research line are to develop practical circuit techniques for practical problems, and to invent new concept-to-solution designs to underpin the development of wireless industry. Several key directions are:
- Multi-band low-cost mobile-TV tuners.
- Ultra-low-power ZigBee radios for low-power low-cost wireless connectivity such as Internet of Things.
- Wideband flexible receivers and transmitters for emerging software-defined radios and cognitive radios.
- Micro-power multi-stage and single-stage amplifiers with enhanced capacitive-load drivability, power and area efficiencies.
The invented techniques are expected to advance the state-of-the-art knowledge in the fields, and should be potentially transferrable to the industry for practical applications.
